Who is a Caregiver?
Caregivers are individuals who are qualified to provide care for children, elderly persons or persons with disabilities in private homes without supervision. Moving to Canada as a nanny is very popular and people love working as nanny in Canada.
Types of Caregiver Program
The Home Child Care Provider Pilot (NOC: 44100) and the Home Support Worker Pilot (NOC: 44101)

You have less than 24 months of qualifying work experience (Gaining experience category)

You have 24 or more months of qualifying work experience (Direct to permanent residence category)
A total of 5500 applications are processed every year starting 1st January on first come first serve basis
What are the requirements?

You must have a completed post-secondary education credential of at least 1 year in Canada or you need to get your foreign education credential assessed to show that it’s equal to a completed Canadian post-secondary education credential of at least 1 year.

Ability to work: A caregiver course is needed if you do not have relevant education & you will also need relevant experience of atleast 6 months

IELTS - GT or French equivalent to CLB 5

How the whole process works?

Do caregiver (Nanny) course in your home country or at OSES in India.

Start working as Caregiver/ nanny in your home country.

Clear some Language proficiency test (IELTS etc.)

Apply for Work Permit & PR application for the whole family together. School going students will get study permit and children less than 5 years age will get visitor visa.

Frequently asked questions
1) Can I return to my home country for vacations, if I am working as Caregiver in Canada?
Answer: Yes, you can return to your home country for a vacation. The length of your vacation should be written in your employment contract. If you take a longer vacation than that, without written consent from your employer, you could lose your job in Canada.
2)Can I go on vacation while my application for permanent residence is being processed?
Answer: Taking a vacation outside of Canada should not affect your application for permanent residence. However, if you leave Canada while your application is being processed, you may not be allowed to come back into Canada. Each time you come back, you must meet all the rules for entering the country.
3)Can my spouse or common-law partner and dependent children come with me to Canada?
Answer: Spouse or common-law partner with get Open work permit and children with get study or visit visa as per their age.
